First Foods

Updated: Jun 24, 2021

Most cultures have a pureed, mashed, ground or blended version of their family food as a first food option. These early foods can be purchased or prepared at home. They can be single foods or combination dinners. They can be baby’s only starting food or a complement to early finger feeding. What works for one baby may not work for another. Mealtime Connections offers Baby’s First Tastes Classes to help guide parents through the transition from breast or bottle to solid foods using a

“Get Permission Approach” combined with “Baby Led Weaning”. In addition, individualized consultation is also available for those babies that have developmental, medical, or sensory challenges and need extra support to find skill and enjoyment in their transitions.
