Picky eating can be a part of the normal developmental process. Many young children experience a time where they refuse even their favorite foods. For some children, picky eating is more than just a phase. Children with sensory processing difficulties, medical conditions, and emotional issues can struggle to enjoy mealtimes. For these kids, picky eating can significantly impact their nutrition, energy level and quality of life. Our therapists partner with families to find mealtime peace by following the child’s lead, and by making small changes in the mealtime routine that result in greater food variety, more balanced nutrition and eating enjoyment.
